TrainerTool

TrainerTool lets you open the first leg yourself and watch how a grid behaves — separate BUY and SELL baskets, a leg added each time price runs the grid step against you, the average price, the price the shared TP sits at, leg count and total lots, all live on the board, with a RUN MAX section that records the worst of the run. It is the cheap way to understand averaging-in on historical data before real money.

What it does

• BUY / SELL / CLOSE buttons, lot steppers and B / S keyboard shortcuts
• Adds the grid legs itself as price runs the grid step against the basket, and writes one shared TP from the average onto every leg
• Set the grid step, the lot multiplier, the take-profit distance from the average, and the maximum legs per direction in Inputs
• Separate BUY and SELL basket readouts — legs, total lots, average price, TP price, floating P/L
• Also manages trades you open from the Tester's own order window (by default every position on the symbol, whatever its magic number)
• A RUN MAX section records the deepest drawdown, the most legs one basket held and the furthest price ran against the first leg, and prints a summary when the run ends

How it works

1. Open the Strategy Tester

   Pick a symbol and a date range, then run in Visual mode.

2. Open the first leg

   Use the BUY or SELL button on the board, or the B / S keys; adjust size with − / +.

3. Watch the basket grow

   Each time price moves a grid step against you, TrainerTool adds a leg — watch the average and the TP price move.

4. Review

   Baskets close at the shared TP, or press CLOSE to close both sides; then read RUN MAX on the board and the summary line in the Tester's Journal tab.

Who it suits

• Anyone learning how a grid / averaging system actually behaves
• Anyone about to run a basket manager (AutoBot, TraderTool) who wants to see first how deep a grid goes in a long one-way market
• Anyone who wants to try different grid steps, lot multipliers and TP distances and measure the drawdown, without risking money

What to watch out for

• Runs in the Strategy Tester only — it will not start on a live or demo chart — and it is a practice tool, not a profit system.
• Tester results are not live results — spread, slippage and gaps all differ.
• There is no stop loss — a basket ends only at its shared TP or when you press CLOSE.
• Non-visual and Optimize runs have no board to click — set TesterBuy / TesterSell and the EA opens the first leg itself.
